MechWarrior 2 intro!

why don't they make games like this anymore, or game music like this anymore? if they made a mechwarrior game today, the score for it would be some bullsh*t hip hop or ska trash.

Damn. The moment the soundtracks start to play, I can nearly hear that female robotic voice going "Reactor, online. Sensors, online. Weapons, online. All systems, nominal." It's been years and years, and when I was watching a video about MW5 I heard one MW2 track. Always wished the other MW sequels would just use the MW2 tracks...the later ones just don't cut it. Thanks so much for the memories!

Pyre Light (#11).. Reminds me of my fav. Netmech map back in the days of Kali.

ReaperMan: thank you very much for that link! Now, here's a tip: the missing MW2 track, "Arkham Bridge" (aka "Race Against Time" or "Labrea, Circle of Equals - Trial of Grievance") is the SAME SONG as track 18 from Ghost Bear's Legacy. So you can get that instead. As for the track names, check the Wikipedia article on: "MechWarrior 2 Soundtrack".

Sooo good to hear this original soundtrack again! Kinda reminds me of riding my fav Mech thru the fog, prepared to lay waste. Thanks!

Great site, great music, only one problem. . .the names of all the songs are wrong. What seems to be listed here are the names of the -missions- that are associated with each track. While naming them likewise would be logical if they didn't already have names, this is not the case. Here they are, in order: # Escort # Anomaly # Left to Die # The Thrill of the Hunt # Routine Mission # Kill or be Killed # Against the Odds # Race Against Time # Ambushed # Confrontation # Recon # The Art of War # Happy Fun Battle # A Walk in the Park # No Surrender # To The Death # The New Challenger # Track 19 # The Predator and the Prey # Death is Imminent # A Second Chance # The Turn of the Tide # Die With Honor # Retaliation # This Is It

Everything was awesome! The music, the game play, the people, and the wire mode since that was the only way I could play. It was the most awesome game ever! I still have all 4 game disk from when we had 4 of us playing here in a room at Crow Central. DH-Crow, (me) DH-Rosebudd, DH-Larkane and DH-punkinfbird. I wish they would come out with the same Mech 2 game where it could be played on the new computers and open another online site. I bet tons of people would be there. This was truely the best game of all times. This soundtrack is the best. Hunt and kill music. :) Makes me want to play all over again.

Hello again. A coworker is another MAJOR Mech/Battletech fan, he sent me to a Mech site I thought you all would like seeing. Among other things, the link provided is directly to Music downloads. Unfortunately, it is missing Arkham Bridge, if anyone has a link to a wav/mp3/etc file for downloading, that would be great. Also, anyone know titles for tracks 24 and 26? THANKS http://sarna.net/files/index.php/media/audio/music/soundtracks/mechwarrior_2_clans/

I LOVED MW2 way back in the day. That and XWing were all I played for years. I'd try other games, but they never had that hard-but-doable with skills feel in some of the games and certainly not the finished feel of the sound track in MW2.

This was the first PC game I ever played, and I've been secretly imagining myself as a giant laser, cannon, and missile toting mech pilot ever since. I've also played hundreds of PC games since then. This game was so awesome in every way, from the attention to detail, to still one of the best soundtracks ever put in a game. Wish someone would do a graphical rehaul of this series beyond a mod.

Thanks for posting this. These sounds just resonate from my childhood dude. I've purchased this game off of eBay so i can have the actual audio cd. peace

Ah, I loved (And still do) this game... I still play it occasionally on DOSBox Emulator, it really is nice to pull out the good ol' Mech 2 Disc and blow away the enemy Mechs in the Trials of grievance. This was the first game that I ever /really/ liked... And the soundtrack, just an epic orchestral masterpiece... It just topped this amazing game off. I think the tracks during "Arkam bridge", "Blade Splint", and the Title theme were the best on the soundtrack. :)

Once again, after listening to this track repeatedly, It has never gotten old! For being made around 1994, the quality of the music is really nice! I'm also glad to see its been in the top three for a while now! :D

Oh My God, wow I used to listen to this CD to get to sleep at night and i felt like such a wierdo listening to video game music. Apparently its quite popular.

Wow, a ton of fans! I played this like eons ago. Loved the music, kept the CD, and it's literally been with me all over the world! Just decided to google it on a whim... What a nice surprise to see other people also consider this an amazing game. Nowadays stuff is too fast and too complicated, that just gets extraneous after a while. I loved the way everything ran kinda slow, it really made the mechs feel massive.

I loved playing Mech 1 & 2 when I was younger (never got to play the others) and as some one mentioned games these days don't capture the same emotion as games of the past and I completely agree, games back then felt like they had some human feel to it (ok they are old compared to todays games) but modern games feel like they are manufactured and not crafted. I like track 8.

Being the geek that I am, one of my favorite musical genres is the computer game soundtrack, and MechWarrior 2 is one of the all-time classics. (Of course, I do have this soundtrack on my iPod, but its battery's been dead for a while now...) Thanks for providing me with my MechWarrior 2 soundtrack fix! Perfect for at-work listening. Now if I could only get MW2 to run under Vista at home, I'd be set! Sigh...

Wow ... I haven't heard these tracks since the 90s and they instantly bring me back to the cockpit of my custom Warhawk. MW2's music was truly inspired—and inspiring—and lent an air of futuristic realism to the game. It completed the atmosphere and immersed you totally. This excellent soundtrack is part of what makes Mechwarrior 2 one of the only "perfect" games I've ever been fortunate enough to play.

I love this soundtrack; I used to play the game in my CD player just to listen to the music. Thank you for creating a site where I can enjoy this lost treasure. I'll be back, again and again... and again.

Track 9... I remember being on team speak with my clan on MPlayer like it was yesterday. That atmosphere this song created, it seemed to pickup right at the perfect time while dodging PPC's and shredding kids arms with my UAC's. so glad I stumbled across this today

Wow great soundtrack and site for posting it! I forgot how good soundtracks used to be for games like this.

There is Alan. The music is located on the game disc as CD audio tracks. You can extract the audio tracks as WAV files then convert to MP3. You'll need to buy the game though. Check out eBay and Amazon.

I obsessivly played this game when I was a kid, STILL one of my all time favorites, I can vege out listening to the music all day. All 3 Mech 2 games were awesome, and this was one of the best Soundtracks I have ever heard for a game. Still have my Doom soundtrack too and love Homeworld, but this is STILL the best IMO. Thanks for the memories!!

I'm not really into computer games at all, but this game was so compelling visually for it's time, and the music was captivating. I would often just play the game to hear the music. This may be a bit much, but I was able to download this music somewhere ( I don;t remember where) and my wife and I have great sex to it!!

#9 (Iron Piston/Wolf Trial 2) is the ultimate 'walk into the room and everyone there knows you're awesome' song. and i still hear Arkham Bridge in my head if i ever have somewhere get somewhere urgent

This soundtrack is great! I still have the CD for this game, and compared to modern day soundtracks, this one is much better. It actually makes you feel like your inside a mech! To be honest, I'd say this is equal to or better than the Half Life 2 soundtrack.. (Have HL2 also :P) Thanks for putting this soundtrack up!!!

Oh man... my eyes are tearing... goosebumps when I listen to the awesome that is track 9. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Is there any place online where I can legally buy the tracks? Thinking of buying a used copy of the game-disc itself and ripping the tracks... would prefer it if there's somewhere I can just buy and download the tracks.

Amazing. I grew up playing this game, and loving this music. It has been so long since I have heard it. I will always regard this as one of the greatest compilations of music for any game (and I still regard the game itself to be one of the top ten of all time). These modern games just can not capture the emotion and depth that Mech Warrior 2 and others from the same era had. This is an instant bookmark, thanks so much for keeping the memories alive!

While at work I suddently got to think about MechWarrior 2 and its excellent soundtrack that I haven't heard in so many years, and thought I'd do a google. And found this site! Couldn't believe it! It's a nostalgia museum! Anyway... I played this game like crazy. Do you guys remember the manual to this game? A thick one with "hand written" notes in the margins, like it was an actual handbook for a mech! Not to mention the fax and letter from the two different clans. And it wasn't even a "collectors edition" - it was just pure love for making a great game, unlike most of today's streamlined productions. Ok, so favorite tracks... 6 and 11.

I can't thank you enough! i've been looking for this soundtrack forever, my old copy of MW2 somehow developed a hole in it, though it still worked, my dad threw it out some time ago, and ive never been able to find the soundtrack again, it reminds all of us of hours of our youth wasted playing games about giant robots lol. Clan Wolf lives on! Always loved the games and the soundtracks, but hands down 2 was the best in all aspects. lol if you can't tell I liked Clan Wolf & the TimberWolf mech. my email's timber_wolf_iic@yahoo.com (go ahead hate on me, you cant win! lol)

I would have to agree that this was one of the best sims I have ever played. Next would be Heavy Hear, but the memories of this game play with this music and the Thunder Stick joystick make not regret taking out all those Free Borns. Klan Ghost Bear lives own.

!!!!!!This soundtrack brings back so many good memories!!!!! I always thought it was so well done!! :) Glad it's at least still around since it's just about impossible to play the game again (and it might be less than exciting with what we're used to seeing nowadays).

Have listened to this game's soundtrack over the years, cant believe its been damn near 12 since it came out. I love Track 12: Pyre Light cause it does have an almost instantly relaxing rendition to it, I love it!

This game was one of the best simulator games ever made. Not because of graphics, which were really good at the time, but because of the chaotic and demanding gameplay. It really felt like you were piloting this huge Battlemech, and the music helped to set the mood really well. Love this soundtrack!
